WELCOME TO THE SPLENDID BAKERY

I started baking Victoria sponges and scones with my Mum as a child. When the pages fell out of her cookbook or they got stuck together with batter, I moved onto more complicated baking and cake decorating books; many of which have since met a similar fate.

After being the family baker for some time I graduated onto christening and birthday cakes for friends before being given the ultimate honour and challenge of my sister-in-law’s wedding cake.

 

From that moment I was completely hooked.  I found myself stalking engaged friends in the hope of wangling a wedding cake commission (surprisingly successful).  I started turning up at

parties with cakes just because it was the perfect opportunity to try a new technique.  I now get invited to lots of parties!

My wedding cake ambitions soon outstripped my immediate circle of family and friends and it was time to take my obsession to the next level.  I wanted to create truly beautiful wedding cakes that reflected the personality of my clients and contributed to their most special day.  

I love flowers and ruffles and pearls and sparkles, but I also enjoy trying something new with my designs.  If you don’t find the perfect design in my portfolio please call me; I can chat about cake all day long!
